This morning at 5:30 I started the print for the centerpiece. It will take about 9 hours so it should be ready around 14:30. At 6:30 I noticed the print went wrong.
A small piece that was created on top of the support material had been blown off.
I could have continue printing but then this part would always stay ugly. So I stopped the print.
At 7:00 I started a new print after I had also some feeder problems to solve. Again grinding was the cause.
It went very good. After 87% was done and 7:34 hours past this is the result.
And after 8:21 hours it was ready. Till the end all went well.
The support material was mainly at the bottomside. It still has to be cleaned.
But it looks great.
And here is the piece assembled with all I got at this moment. For the sides I used bamboo skewers of 15 cm. For the skewers from the corner to the centerpiece it is 10.7 cm each. I have simple created in Blender a file how it will look in the end. Then I measured the length of what the bamboo skewer had to be maximum. The easy way of doing it...
Now it is time to design and print the middle pieces....
